/vəˈnakjʊlə/ˈɑːkɪtɛktʃə/
Vernacular architecture represents the rudimentary requirements to exist within a particular environment. It is typified by the use of traditional construction techniques, local materials, and a strong relationship to the local climate. With a focus on the use of local resources, and adaptations to deal with local climate and conditions, it is an inherently economical and sustainable means of construction.
